What a Memorial Day Weekend!

It all started on Friday afternoon, where a big group of us played in a dodgeball tournament! Here are some pictures of my team in action!

We didn't actually win, but it was fun, nonetheless.

This is before Ryan got there because he had to go to an Honor's Banquet (smarty)

Then after the tournament, our team went to BB's for dinner. As you can see, we were serenaded by this funny guy that was pretty good- considering he was playing by himself!

We had some visitors that came for the weekend: Dylan DeWitt and Devin Hill.

Then on Saturday, we rented a boat and took it to the island of Anguilla.

Here we are at the marina in Cupecoy after visiting the grocery store, Gourmet Marche, to stock-up for the day.

Going under the bride in Marigot to get to the Caribbean Sea on the French side.

This is where Ryan took me to eat for my birthday: Mario's Bistro.

Ryan was a great Captain!

This picture does not do the beauty of the water justice.

More pictures of the best restaurant ever.

The island of Anguilla before we swam to it.

Supposedly, several celebrities have houses here: Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods, etc. It is a British-owned island, but I was told that there isn't much to do there. It is strictly a place to come to get away. The water was absolutely gorgeous. It was perfectly turquoise-clear. The most beautiful color.

We swam ashore to get some lunch on Anguilla and I am pretty sure that the waitress wanted to kick all of us out! We were singing and acting silly, but it was so much fun!

Thumbs up to a delicious lunch

I think these are some resorts, but I couldn't tell.

I lost that hat in the ocean before this picture because I let go of it for 1 second while driving! We had to turn around and go and fish it out of the water! Woops! I'm sorry guys!

It was such a fun weekend, and now it is back to the grind for Ryan and the rest of the students. So, that means I will go back to entertaining myself via my kindle! I hope that everyone had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend, and thank you to our troops for everything that you do!

Taking the Water Taxi

So, one of the coolest things about where Ryan and I live is that we have a water taxi! You just walk down to the marina and there he is: a guy that drives you anywhere you like on the lagoon. Then when you are ready to go, you call his number and he will come back and pick you up. So simple yet so amazing! For brunch this morning, a few of the spouses met at Sarafina's in Marigot on the French side and I decided to take the water taxi there! Here are some pictures of my journey there:
This is a picture of where we live from the lagoon. We are in the tower on the left.

Heading towards Marigot

Beautiful mountains everywhere

I like this boat

Beautiful

The place where we had brunch, Sarafina's is a delicious french restaurant. Here is a review that I found:

"Open-air patisserie on Front de Mer, in Marigot, across from marketplace. Very European feel to its indoor/outdoor seating, service, and clientele. Business people, locals, and tourists can dine (panini's, sandwiches, etc.), and drink teas, coffees, bottled waters and beer. Gelato is available in one corner, while the rest of Sarafina's looks like a pastry and bread lover's paradise. The air is filled with the language of many nations and the aroma of newly baked whole grain breads, luscious strawberry and raspberry-mounded and chocolate pastries, among many delectable others. Stock up on baguettes, brioche and beignets before you climb up to the nearby St. Louis Fort, or en route to Pic Paradis and the beaches beyond!"

So, doesn't that sound fantastic? Here are some pictures as well:

I am definitely going to need to start a diet here pretty soon!
